Forest dieback switches the relationships between microfaunal bacterivore guilds and soil nutrients

چکیده
The current increase of severe droughts associated with climate change is one the main causes observed dieback in Mediterranean holm-oak ( Quercus Ilex subs ballota ) forests. Effects forest soils are greatly variable and depend on a number local factors, but generally include increased soil organic C due to litter inputs, alterations nutrient contents, changes nitrogen cycle, detrimental effects microbial communities their functioning. There little evidence, however, faunal diversity. In this study, we assessed induced shifts microfaunal relationships properties We studied 13 Holm oak sites affected by tree Iberian Peninsula relationship between properties, functions, nematode diversity under healthy, defoliated, dead trees at each site. found that abundances were significantly patchy across sites. Bacterivore herbivore nematodes most abundant trophic groups. Nematode abundance increasing levels only if P was available, indicating might be P-limited these semi-arid systems. especially death, since switched bacterivore contents. Opportunistic bacterivores, able exploit ephemeral bacterial resources blooming after enrichment, seemed more resilient death than generalist ones, while fungivores did not clearly respond dieback. complex unexpected communities, which should receive further attention. • patchily distributed Total when available. positively N healthy trees. bacterivores linked mineralization C-rich soils. Dieback microfauna content.

phatic communion is a cultural concept which differs across cultures. according to hofstede (2001), the u.s. tends to have individualistic culture; however, asian countries tend to have collectivistic cultures. these cultures view phatic communion differently. in individualistic cultures like u.s., phatic communion reflects speakers’ socio-cultural relationships in conversations. to see whether...
15 صفحه اولPredicting forest dieback in Maine, USA: a simple model based on soil frost and drought
Tree roots of northern hardwoods are shallow rooted, winter active, and minimally frost hardened; dieback is a winter freezing injury to roots incited by frost penetration in the absence of adequate snow cover and exacerbated by drought in summer. High soil water content greatly increases conductivity of frost. We develop a model based on the sum of z-scores of soil frost (December–February) an...
متن کاملThe Relationship between Nutrients Pattern and Hypercholesterolemia
Background: The prevalence of hypercholesterolemia is increasing globally. It is associated with a significant risk of developing type 2 diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular diseases. The aim of the current study was to explore the relationship of nutrients patterns and other lifestyle-related factors with the presence of hypercholesterolemia in a representative population of Iran. Methods: Die...

The facts about the ohia (Metrosideros polymorpha) rain forest dieback are put together in abbreviated form as far as they have been revealed over the past 12 years of intensive research in Hawaii. They lead to the conclusion that this native rain forest ecosystem is made up of an irregular and dynamic mosaic of ohia cohort stands occurring side by side. These are in different and similar life ...
